Batsugun Final

Here we have the final fight in the recent Batsugun. Allaister Leat of Judokwai takes the match to a draw again the heavier and slightly less aerobicly conditioned Ben Stallworthy (the last man for the Auckland Uni team). The draw meant both players were sat down, leaving Judokwai with one man standing.

  1. AWESOME VIDEO!!!
Thanks for sharing this video, nice to see some serious enthusiasm and heat on and around the mat! Safety area, who needs a safety area when you have spectators!

Nice to see some old faces from home.

    Keep up the great work!

  2. It didnt look like a draw. The chubby 66kg player threw the plus 100kg XXL player for waza ari with a slow but technically sound yoko tomoe nage. The fight was awarded to the 66kg player.

Kano would be proud.I feel we should allow for some punching and kicking in our Judo too, it will help cut down the grip fighting.

  3. to be honest i think the major was too much of a gentleman with the lighter opponent-he could have gone a lot harder
he clearly had the measure of the lighter opponent but was distracted by the unfortunate interjection of an overzealous bystander
i suggest an amendment to the rules of engagement ie any person who steps on the mat is to be considered a combatant

  4. Good afternoon administrator

Could you put up a few more fights from this contest? It looks like a lot of fun.
